A cooking vessel (1) especially a pan has a vessel body (2) and a removable handle (3) attached via a fixture device to the body (2). The fixture device has a tightly fitted active device with a guide (9) for an active element (8) where the active element (8) and the guide (9) are brought into engagement by a relative swivel movement (A) of the handle (3) and the pan body (2).
