An electronic device to decrease power consumption is provided to reduce unnecessary power consumption by supplying auxiliary power to minimum inner components in a sleep mode through a switch. An electronic device(100) includes a main power unit(140), an on and off control unit(150), a main control unit(130), an auxiliary power unit(110), and a first switching unit(120). The main power unit supplies main power. The on and off control unit receives external on and off signals. The main control unit turns off the main power unit when receiving the external off signal. The auxiliary power unit supplies auxiliary power to the main control unit. The first switching unit blocks the auxiliary power supplied to the main control unit by controlling one of the on and off control unit and the main control unit when receiving the external off signal.
