A system and a method for providing an IPTV(Internet Protocol TV) cinema reservation service are provided to enable a user to reserve a cinema by connecting to a cinema reservation system after PIN(Personal ID Number) authentication through an IPTV, enabling the user to select the cinema from a cinema list, displaying a trailer of the selected cinema to the user, and making the user request a reservation including a cinema name, a theater, a time slot, a seat, and the number of persons with a remote controller. An EPG(Electronic Program Guide) providing system(191) provides an EPG including a cinema reservation channel to a user terminal. A cinema reservation system(120) stores cinema reservation information to a cinema reservation database by receiving a cinema reservation request message from an IP-STB(Set-Top Box)(310) and transmits a cinema reservation completion message to the IP-STB. The cinema reservation system includes a member managing module, a ticket authenticating module, a cinema reservation information managing module, the cinema reservation database, a cinema reservation service data agent, and a COD(Contents On Demand) server.
