A peer management server in a P2P(Peer-to-Peer) system and a peer management method thereof are provided to manage information of peers connected to the P2P system and process a request message efficiently by using a database, and minimize a load of a user client by using the P2P system. A front end process(304) sets up connection with peers connected to a P2P system, receives a message from the peers, and generates a query name and parameter corresponding to the message to process the received message. An SQL(Structured Query Language) map processor(306) includes mapping information for mapping the query name and parameter to a query, and outputs the query corresponding to the query name and parameter. A peer database(308) stores the information of the peers operated as an active peer and the information for contents stored by each peer, and updates or extracts data corresponding to the query received from the SQL map processor. A state checker(300) checks a user connection and message processing state, and a query generation state. A process generation controller(302) generates or removes the front end process and the SQL map process by responding to a checking result of the state checker. |
