A method for preparing cerium carbonate nanopowder is provided to reduce the amounts of charged raw materials and generated wastewater by reusing a supernatant recovered from a cerium carbonate precipitation reaction. A method for preparing cerium carbonate nanopowder includes the steps of: subjecting a cerium salt and a carbonate reactant to a precipitation reaction in the presence of water solvent; and recovering the precipitated material and reusing the remaining supernatant as the solvent. The cerium salt is at least one selected from the group comprising cerium nitrate and cerium acetate. The carbonate reactant is at least one selected from the group comprising urea, ammonium carbonate, and ammonium bicarbonate. Further, a molar rate of the cerium salt and the carbonate reactant is 1:1 or 20:1. |
