OSCILLATION CIRCUIT BASED ON METAL-INSULATOR TRANSITION(MIT) DEVICE AND METHOD OF DRIVING THE SAME OSCILLATION CIRCUIT

An oscillation circuit based upon an MIT(metal insulator transition) device is provided to form an oscillation circuit capable of generating a very high oscillation frequency by adding only one resistance element connected in series with an MIT device. An MIT device(800) includes an MIT thin film and an electrode thin film connected to the MIT thin film wherein discontinuous MIT occurs at an MIT generation voltage in the MIT device. A resistance element(700) is connected in series with the MIT device. A power source(600) applies a DC constant voltage to the MIT device, limiting maximum conduction current. A light source(900) irradiates electromagnetic wave to the MIT device. An oscillation characteristic occurs in the MIT device by the irradiation of the electromagnetic wave of the light source. The light source can be an infrared light source, and the MIT generation voltage of the MIT device decreases as the intensity of the infrared of the light source increases.
