LIQUID CRYSTAL DISPLAY PANEL OF HORIZONTAL ELECTRONIC FILELD APPLYING TYPE AND METHOD OF FABRICATING THE SAME

An LCD(Liquid Crystal Display) panel of a horizontal electronic field applying type and a manufacturing method thereof are provided to form a dummy insulation pattern with the same height as a gate pattern, thereby preventing the generation of a step due to the gate pattern. A gate pattern includes a gate line(102) formed on a lower substrate. A common line(116) is formed in parallel to the gate line. A common electrode(118) is connected with the common line. A gate electrode(108) is connected with the gate line. A data line(104) is crossed with the gate line and defines the pixel area. A TFT(Thin Film Transistor) is located at the crossing area of the gate line and the data line. A pixel electrode is connected with the TFT and forms a horizontal electronic field with the common electrode. A dummy insulating pattern is located on the same plane as the gate pattern and not overlapped with the gate pattern. The dummy insulating pattern is formed directly on the lower substrate and the thickness thereof is the same as that of the gate pattern.
