The support (12) comprises a holder (20) with a first end (26) for receiving a fence upright and a second end (28) for placing inside a space formed in the floor, as well as at least one clamp which is secured to the holder and used to secure the second end of the holder inside the space in the floor. During use, the clamp engages with the floor and can be pivoted by introducing or removing the fence upright. Independent claims are also included for the following: (1) Safety fence comprising two or more of these supports, and at least one horizontal piece which can be releasably secured between the uprights in these supports to form a fence; (2) Combination of this fence and a concrete floor containing a space for the fence; (3) Concrete floor laying method in which at least one space is formed in the floor and one end of a support for a safety fence is placed inside this space; and (4) Method for erecting a safety fence by forming a space in the floor, placing the second end of the holder part of the support inside this space, placing the clamp inside the same space and securing horizontal pieces between the uprights.
