An image forming apparatus capable of controlling voltage application to an adhering member are provided to charge a recording material at an adhered position in order to preclude the image damage due to separation electric discharge when the recording material is separated from a recording transfer member. An image forming apparatus(100A) includes first to fourth procession stations(1a~1d) which are arranged in a row vertically, in which each image color is different. The procession stations have cylindrical electro-photographic photosensitive drums(2a~2d). The photosensitive drums include charged rollers(3a~3d) charging the photosensitive drums uniformly, and exposure devices(4a~4d) projecting the photosensitive drums by laser beam. Developing devices(5a~5d) are placed along periphery parts of the photosensitive drums.
