ACTIVE SEAT BACK SYSTEM FOR VEHICLE

A seat for a vehicle is provided to improve safety and to protect neck of the passenger by maintaining a predetermined distance between a headrest and a seat back. A seat for a vehicle comprises a headrest(10), a distance sensing unit(35), a headrest rotating unit(40), a control unit(30). The control unit continuously receives a signal from the distance sensing unit and judges whether the signal is within a set range, and then controls the headrest rotating unit according to the result in real time to maintain a predetermined distance between the head of a passenger and the headrest. The control unit is connected with an ECU, and has an operation switch and an automatic mode shifting unit additionally. The operation switch operates the headrest rotating unit and a seat back operating unit with a manual mode if a select switch is set in a manual operating mode. The automatic mode shifting unit changes mode of the select switch from the manual mode to an automatic mode if speed of the vehicle is over a standard speed.
