The invention relates to a system for agitating the contents of at least one container, said system comprising: a turntable structure; one or more fluid container holders for holding fluid, and a container holder mounting assembly. Further, rotational motion coupling elements are operatively associated with said turntable structure and arranged to cause each container holder to rotate about an axis of rotation as said turntable structure rotates about a parallel axis of rotation. A computer controller is programmed to control the rotational movement agitating fluid in fluid containers to thereby maintain the solid support material of each associated container in suspension in said fluid medium.
