The device has cartridge receiving jigs (5, 6) for containing cartridges (8) horizontally arranged one above the other. One of the jigs surmounts a loading zone (28) of the cartridges communicating with an expedition zone (29) of the cartridges. A rotating distributor (15) is placed between one of the jigs and the loading zone, and is activeable in a controlled manner, and has a mobile transversal bulkhead (11) adjustable at a position in a longitudinal direction of the jig to adapt the jig to a length of the cartridges.
