MULTIMEDIA APPARATUS FOR RECORDING AND RECOVERING DATA CORRESPOND TO EXTERNAL SHOCK AND THE METHOD THEREOF

A multimedia device capable of recording and recovering data corresponding to an external shock and a method thereof are provided to flexibly record audio/video data and ensures stable recovery of stored audio/video data when power supply is resumed after temporary stop. A multimedia device comprises a shock sensing unit(118), a data storage unit(112), a loader unit(117), and a control unit(119). The shock sensing unit senses an external shock. The data storage unit temporarily stores inputted data. The loader unit records the temporarily stored data in the data storage unit on a loaded medium. The control unit stops data recording operation of the loader unit and maintains temporary storage operation of the data storage unit by discriminating recording error of the loading unit, when an external shock is sensed by the shock sensing unit. If the external shock continues until storage capacity of the data storage unit becomes full, the control unit temporarily stops power supply and restores power supply to perform data recovery on the data stored in the medium.
