A method for checking signal pattern/synchronization and a signal pattern/synchronization checking apparatus using the same are provided to set a threshold value, which can vary according to first correlation values, thereby detecting the frequency hopping pattern information and synchronization of a signal more accurately. A first correlator(100) generates plural first correlation values by using a frequency hopping pattern detection function for a received signal. A threshold value determination unit(110) determines a threshold value based on the first correlation values. A second correlator(120) generates plural second correlation values by using the frequency pattern detection function for the predetermined length sample of the signal. A pattern information acquisition unit(130) acquires the frequency hopping pattern information of the signal according to the second correlation values and the threshold value.
