The device has a roller hold down device (3, 4, 20, 22, 23, 24) extending cross section to a direction of travel of a harvester within an activity area of a picking barrel (15). The hold down device has a hold down roller within activity area of a picking barrel. Another hold down roller is provided outside the area of the barrel. The latter roller causes precompression of harvests opposite to the ground of a field. The hold down rollers can be selectively driven. |
