A system and a method for providing a charged contents service are provided to enable a first terminal incapable of upward communication to use the charged contents service by connecting the first terminal and a second terminal embedded with a payment chip through the WPAN(Wireless Personal Area Network), and enabling the second terminal to pay for the charged contents service with the payment chip. A payment request transmitter(201) transmits a payment request for a charged contents service to a second terminal embedded with a SIM(Subscriber Identity Module) type payment chip(205) from a first terminal incapable of upward communication. A server interface(202) transmits a payment request query to a payment server and receives a payment completion signal for the payment request query from the payment server by using an application operated according to the payment request. A payment information transmitter(203) transmits the payment information to the first terminal from the second terminal. A service provider(204) provides the charged contents service to the first terminal depending on the payment information. The payment chip offsets the balance of the payment chip according to the payment completion signal received from the payment server.
