A direction encoding system accompanying the meta data is provided to store various input members in a multi-media device directly, to manage meta data of the encoded contents integrally, and to offer the effective meta browsing. A multimedia device(30) drives the multimedia data and collects and manages meta data provided from the outside as a single data base different from the multimedia data. An embedded system contents input part(40) inputs contents. An embedded system(50) discriminates the existence of the meta data at the contents inputted from the contents input member, performs the encoding or metal data production, and stores the contents including the meta data in the multimedia device. The embedded system includes a data discriminating member for receiving the contents from the contents input member and discriminating the existence of meta data in the inputted contents.
