A dispersion powder is stabilized by a protective colloid. The protective colloid comprises at least one polyvinyl alcohol (a1) having a Hoppler viscosity v 1of not > 3 mPas and at least one polyvinyl alcohol (a2) having a Hoppler viscosity v 2of 4 - 25 mPas. The weighted Hoppler viscosity v 3of the protective colloid is not > 6 mPas. An independent claim is included for producing the dispersion powder stabilized by the protective colloid involving polymerizing by free radical polymerization, a composition containing the protective colloid.
