The invention relates to a vehicle body composed of at least two prefabricated subassemblies (2, 3, 4) as well as a method for producing such a vehicle body. The inventive vehicle body is inexpensive to produce and can be assembled without any problem from prefabricated subassemblies. This is achieved by that fact that the subassemblies (2, 3, 4) are unremovably joined to each other in a joining zone by positively and/or non-positively joining together a sheet metal section (13, 14; 19, 20; 22, 23; 28, 29) of one subassembly (2, 3, 4) that meets a metal sheet (13, 14; 19, 20; 22, 23; 28, 29) of the other subassembly (2, 3, 4) in the joining zone in a joining process in which at least one of the sheet metal sections (13, 14; 19, 20; 22, 23; 28, 29) is cold-formed while an access channel (Z1, Z2) that extends along at least some sections of the joining zone and is accessible from outside is embodied in at least one of the subassemblies so as to be able to introduce a joining tool. |
