A method and a system for testing an electronic circuit board are provided to automate an operation of testing the electronic circuit board and test surge and burst in the electronic circuit board to improve the reliability and stability of the electronic circuit board. A test program for testing an electronic circuit board is executed(S101). The identifier and history information of the board are received to generate a test list(S102). At least one test item is selected from the test list and a test pattern list corresponding to the selected test item is generated(S103). At least one test pattern item is selected from the test pattern list and the board is tested according to the selected test pattern item(S104), and the test result is output(S105).
