A method and an apparatus of driving a plasma display panel are provided to prevent low discharge at high temperature by partially changing control signals which are supplied to scan and sustain drivers, respectively. A PDP(Plasma Display Panel) includes plural scan sustain, and address electrodes. A Y driver(36) drives the scan electrodes. An X driver(34) drives the sustain electrodes. An address driver(32) drives the address electrodes. A controller generates scan, sustain discharge, and address signals for the drivers. An energy recovery circuit includes a capacitor, an inductor, and plural switches. The controller generates first and second sustain discharge signal groups to be applied to the scan or sustain electrode. n first sustain discharge signals, whose rising times by resonance are specified, are concatenated to each other to form the first sustain discharge signal group. m second sustain discharge signals, whose rising times are longer than those of the first sustain discharge signals, are concatenated to each other to form the second sustain discharge signal group.
