BREAST, LUNG OR COLON CANCER-SPECIFIC MARKER, KIT AND MICROARRAY COMPRISING ANTIBODY FOR THE MARKER AND METHOD FOR PREDICTING PROGNOSIS OF BREAST, LUNG OR COLON CANCER USING THE MARKER

A marker specific to breast cancer, lung cancer or colon cancer is provided to be usefully used for developing a therapeutic agent blocking progress of the breast cancer, lung cancer or colon cancer by inhibiting resistin which induces angiogenesis in tumor and promote growth of breast cancer, lung cancer or colon cancer by increasing the movement of breast cancer, colon cancer or lung cancer cells. A kit comprising an antibody recognizing the marker is provided to be very useful for predicting prognosis of the breast cancer, lung cancer or colon cancer or diagnosing the breast cancer, lung cancer or colon cancer. A marker specific to breast cancer, lung cancer or colon cancer comprises resistin as an effective ingredient. A kit or a microarray for predicting diagnosis or prognosis of the breast cancer, lung cancer or colon cancer comprises an antibody recognizing the marker. A method for predicting the diagnosis or prognosis of the breast cancer, lung cancer or colon cancer comprises the steps of: (a) measuring an expression level of the resistin from a biological sample obtained from a patient suffering from the breast cancer, lung cancer or colon cancer; and (b) after comparing the measured expression level with an expression level of a normal breast, colon or lung cell, diagnosing the patient to have the breast cancer, lung cancer or colon cancer or predicting the patient to have the possibility of increased breast cancer, lung cancer or colon cancer when the measured resistin expression level is higher than that of the normal cell. Further, the biological sample is selected from a group consisting of whole blood, blood serum and blood plasma.
