Disclosed is a scavenger of harmful active oxygen and/or free radical in a living body, which can effectively reduce the concentration of active oxygen and/or free radical in vivo and, as a result, can shows a given effect such as an effect of preventing the progression of aging, an effect of preventing a geriatric disease or a life-style related disease, an effect of enhancing health and an effect of inhibiting oxidant stress. The scavenger comprises a liquid or gas containing at least a hydrogen molecule. The medium may also contain an oxygen molecule. The medium may comprise water, an aqueous solution or a gas. The scavenger can be used for the treatment or prevention of a disorder induced by active oxygen and/or free radical. |
