OXYGEN GAS DIFFUSION CATHODE FOR SODIUM CHLORIDE ELECTROLYSIS

An excellent gas diffusion cathode which is stable over a long period of time and has a low cell voltage as compared with the related technologies in the technical field of sodium chloride electrolysis is provided. An oxygen gas diffusion cathode(1) for sodium chloride electrolysis comprises: a porous conductive substrate(3) comprising silver, a hydrophobic material and a carbon material; and a catalyst(2) which comprises silver and palladium, and which is coated on the porous conductive substrate. The catalyst has a molar ratio of silver to palladium of 10/1 to 1/4. The carbon material is a carbon fabric or a sintered carbon fiber.
