<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an apparatus and method for editing and displaying a web document, in which in consumer electronics employing the method for editing and displaying a web document, even if the consumer electronics do not include an input unit such as a mouse or a touch pen, it is possible to easily and rapidly browse a large amount of web documents by using only a direction key. <P>SOLUTION: The apparatus for editing and displaying a web document includes a browser which classifies the content of the web document received through the Internet into two or more classified parts; a memory which stores a mapping table including information for a correlation between the classified parts of the Web document; a display which displays only a summary of the web document partially including the classified parts; and a user input means for a user to select one of items contained in the summary of the web document. The browser performs display of only an essential part of each item, and additionally displays, for the selected essential part, a non-displayed detailed information part corresponding to the selected essential part in reference to the mapping table on the display. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2008,JPO&INPIT</p> |
