<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To solve the problem in a patch clamping method, wherein it is difficult to accurately insert a micropipette into one cell, under a microscope, especially for a floating cells, in that the micropipette cannot be accurately brought to the surface of the cell. <P>SOLUTION: This cell electrophysiological sensor comprises a cylindrical component 1 having a cavity inside, and a sensor chip 2 that is disposed at one end or the intermediate part of the cavity of this cylindrical component 1 and is formed of a thin plate 3 and a frame 4 for holding the thin plate 3.
