PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a conductive material precursor from which a conductive material having high conductivity and light transmitting property can be obtained, and to provide a method for manufacturing the conducive material. SOLUTION: (1) The conductive material precursor has a physical phenomenon nucleus layer and a silver halide emulsion layer on a support, at least, in this order nearer to the support, and is characterized in that a hydrophilic colloid layer disposed in a side farther away from the support than the physical development nucleus layer contains a compound, having a primary amino group in the molecule. (2) The conductive material precursor, described in (1) is characterized, such that the compound having a primary amino group is a compound having a hydrazide group in the molecule. (3) The method for manufacturing a conductive material is such that the conductive material precursor described in (1) or (2) is exposed imagewise, on which a soluble silver complex salt forming agent and a reducing agent are allowed to act in an alkali liquid.
