PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a manufacturing method of a dimerized aromatic compound. SOLUTION: The manufacturing method of a dimerized aromatic compound represented by formula (2) comprises subjecting an aromatic halogen compound represented by formula (1) to dehalogenation coupling in the presence of a catalyst, water, a reducing agent and a base, where a catalyst comprising palladium and nickel supported on a carrier is used as the catalyst.
