<p>A method for recording accident information of a vehicle is provided to detect a point of time of an accident more accurately by computing an importance index according to intensity of shock and storing the data in a memory on the basis of the computed importance index. A method for recording accident information of a vehicle comprises the steps: obtaining driving information data including image information from a control unit periodically(S312); setting weighted value corresponding to average shock and computing an importance index(S314); checking capacity of a volatile memory and storing the driving information data successively if the capacity is not exceeded, and selecting the volatile memory block which has the lowest importance index and storing the driving information data if the capacity is exceeded(S316); judging whether shock obtained in real time is greater than a set critical dimension or not if a timer is not operated, and operating the timer if shock is greater than the set critical dimension(S322); judging whether predetermined time is passed since at point that the timer is operated(S324); and reading entire data from the volatile memory if the predetermined time is passed, and storing the data in a non volatile memory as the accident-related information(S326).</p> |
