GAS ANALYZER AND GAS ANALYZING METHOD

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a gas analyzer excellent in measuring responsiveness and capable of precisely measuring the concentration of HC, and a gas analyzing method.

SOLUTION: The gas analyzer 1 is attached to an exhaustion route 3 for discharging the exhaust gas from an engine 20 to measure the concentration or temperature of the components of the exhaust gas and equipped with a floodlight projection part 40 for irradiating the exhaust gas in the piping 3a of the exhaustion route 3, a first measuring part 4 having a light receiving part 41 for receiving the infrared rays emitted from the floodlight projection part 40 to be transmitted through the exhaust gas, a second measuring part 5 having a light receiving part 51 for receiving the infrared rays based on the heat radiation in the piping 3a of the exhaustion route 3 and a computer 6 for arithmetically processing the outputs from the first and second measuring parts 4 and 5 to calculate the concentration of HC in the exhaust gas.
