PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve a data guarantee property of an external storage device, in data guarantee technology in a storage device system configuring a computer system. SOLUTION: When managing a storage area of the external storage device 8 as a volume, a guarantee code corresponding to data of a read or write access target is generated in a guarantee code generation/confirmation part 206, and the generated guarantee code is stored in the external storage device 8. When executing read or write access to the storage area of the external storage device 8, accordance between the guarantee code stored correspondingly to the data of the access target and the guarantee code generated from the data of the access target is confirmed in the guarantee code generation/confirmation part 206 to guarantee the data of the access target.
