摘要 PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To achieve stabilization of reproduction and lower power consumption of 3-segment digital sound broadcast. SOLUTION: In the demodulation section 100 of a receiver 1 including a terrestrial digital sound broadcast as a reception object, a layer separating section 104 separates a reception signal into a layer A and a layer B constituting a 3-segment broadcast when the 3 segment broadcast of terrestrial digital sound broadcast is received. A comparator 109 compares the CN ratio of a reception signal, detected at a CN-ratio detecting section 105 with the CN ratio required for stable reproduction of the layer B. If a signal level required for stable reproduction of the layer B is not reached, as a result of comparison by the comparator 109, a control circuit 110 stops demodulation operation of the layer B at a layer B processing section 130B performing demodulation operation of the layer B separated at the layer separating section 104.
