PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an ignition stopping device avoiding generation of afterburn caused by unburnt gas in stopping ignition, and also minimizing an influence by a change in temperature or a secular change on ignition stopping operation. SOLUTION: In this ignition stopping device 1A disposed in an engine system with a spark plug 6 ignited by a magnet type ignition device 3 attached to an engine, and eliminating counter electromotive voltage and current of a primary voltage signal to stop ignition by connecting a primary voltage signal wire 4 from the ignition device 3 to an accelerator switch 2 to switch on the accelerator switch 2, a CPU 10 as an electronic control means for continuously detecting predetermined detection signals showing engine conditions is provided. After the accelerator switch 2 is switched on, the electronic control means 10 stops ignition at timing when the remaining unburnt gas after stopping ignition is minimized according to the engine conditions.
