PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an oriented film being excellent in transparency and optical isotropy, which are required for films used in optical use, and also having practical heat resistance and mechanical strength in combination. SOLUTION: The oriented film is composed of a thermoplastic transparent resin obtained by hydrogenating more than 70% of the aromatic double bond of a copolymer obtained from the polymerization of a monomer composition comprising at least a kind of (meth)acrylic ester monomer and at least a kind of aromatic vinyl monomer, wherein the copolymer has 0.25-4 of the molar ratio (A/B) of the constituting unit originated from the (meth)acrylic ester monomer (A mole) to the constituting unit originated from the aromatic vinyl monomers (B mole).
