PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an aluminum plated steel material coated with a surface treating agent which does not contain chromium and fluorine compounds, and further does not contain Mn, V, Mo, organic inhibitors or the like causing discoloration upon heating, and to provide the water-based treating agent. SOLUTION: The aluminum-plated steel material having excellent discoloration resistance upon heating and corrosion resistance after heating is coated with a film comprising: (A) at least one or more selected from titanium compounds and zirconium compounds; (B) 2 to 6 bonded phosphoric esters of myo-inositol and at least one or more selected from the alkali metal salt, alkaline-earth metal salt and ammonium salt thereof; and (C) silica, and in which the mass ratio of the quantity of (A) expressed in terms of metals, (Zr+Ti):(B):(C) is 1:0.2 to 1.7:0.2 to 5 in 30 to 1,000 mg/m<SP>2</SP>by the quantity of (A) expressed in terms of metals.
