PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an alkene polymer containing optically active phosphorus that is useful as a resolving agent for various optically active substances, a support for a metal catalyst, a packing material for a chromatograph or the like, and its manufacturing method. SOLUTION: The alkene polymer containing optically active phosphorus contains a constituting unit represented by general formula (I). In the formula, the absolute steric configuration on the phosphorus atom is either R or S; n is 1 or 0; and R<SP>1</SP>and R<SP>2</SP>are each a different alkyl group, aryl group, aralkyl group, alkoxy group, aryloxy group or aralkyloxy group.
