PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a compact fishing reel that is light weight, capable of preventing application of severe warpage on its shaft member and also of maintaining operability of its engaging member. SOLUTION: This fishing reel is supported by the reel body (2) and is also equipped with a rotary shaft tube (12) that rotates by the rotary operation of a handle (30), a reverse-rotation preventing body (34) that is installed rotatably with the rotary shaft tube (12) and integrally with a single unit and an engaging member (35), supported rotatably by the reel body (2) via a shaft member (50). The engaging member (35) limits the rotation of the rotary shaft tube (12) in the reverse direction of winding-in fishing line, by engaging with the reverse-rotation preventing body (34). The shaft member (50) penetrates the engaging member (35) relatively, in a turnable manner, and is supported by the reel body (2) at 2 positions that nip the engaging member (35) in between, along the shaft direction.
