PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a battery capable of improving assembling efficiency. SOLUTION: The battery comprises a battery case 3 of which the front face is opened, a battery cell 2 which is inserted from the front side of the battery case 3 and has a positive electrode part 24 and a negative electrode part 25 formed on one face facing outside from the front side, a holder 42 which holds a positive electrode terminal 45 to be jointed to the positive electrode 24 on the face opposed to the battery cell 2 and is installed on the front face of the battery case 3, an electrode protection member 49 which is supported at a holding part 50 of the holder 50 opened in the same direction as the opening direction of the front of the battery case 3 and has a negative electrode terminal 46 to be jointed to the negative electrode part 25 and a PTC 48 arranged so as to stride over the positive electrode part 24, a terminal plate 43 supported by the holding part 50, and a top cover 44 installed on the front face of the battery case 3.
