<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To attain high quality image display concerning a technique for reducing pseudo-contour of animation. <P>SOLUTION: A image signal processing method includes a step for creating a sub-field lighting pattern signal for controlling the existence of lighting in two or more sub-field periods in pixels, according to a pixel value of the pixel in an input image; a signal correction step for correcting the sub-field lighting pattern signal, by using a motion vector acquired by motion vector search performed on a 1st frame and a 2nd frame earlier than the 1st frame in an input image; and the sub-field lighting pattern signal includes lighting pattern information of each pixel in each sub-field period between the 1st frame and the 2nd frame; and among the motion vectors, the signal correction step uses a motion vector passing by one pixel in a single sub-field period to determine the lighting pattern information in the one sub-field period of the one pixel, creating a new sub-field lighting pattern signal that has the newly determined lighting pattern information. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2008,JPO&INPIT |
