<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a liquid crystal display device in which a photosensor incorporated in a display panel is constituted not so as to be affected by a backlight as much as possible to prevent occurrence of the malfunction and sensitivity degradation of a sensor. <P>SOLUTION: In the liquid crystal display device 1 which comprises a liquid crystal display panel having a TFT substrate 2 and a CF substrate 25 placed opposite to each other and a liquid crystal layer 14 formed between them, and an illuminating means arranged on the rear face of the TFT substrate, and which is equipped with a photodetector portion LS1 with a TFT photosensor to detect external light on the TFT substrate, and which controls the illuminating means with an output of the photodetector portion, a sensor window W to take in the external light is arranged on a place of the CF substrate, facing the TFT photosensor on the TFT substrate, wherein the periphery of the sensor window is covered with a light shielding layer K which shields the external light and suppresses reflection of light from the illuminating means. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2008,JPO&INPIT |
