PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To restrain an oil strainer from sucking air even if an oil pan is inclined to move a shallow bottom part downward. SOLUTION: The oil pan 1 is arranged at a lower part of an engine, and includes a deep bottom part 21 storing oil, the shallow bottom part 11 having a shallower bottom than the deep bottom part 21, a deep bottom side wall 22 surrounding the deep bottom part 21 and a shallow bottom side wall 12 surrounding the shallow bottom part 11. A dam plate 23 is erectly provided on the deep bottom part 21, and the dam plate 23 is provided with an opening part 23b in a direction perpendicular to an up-and down direction and toward the shallow bottom part 11. The dam plate is provided with a surrounding surface 23d surrounding a half or more of an outer circumference of an oil strainer 3 under a condition where the same separates from the oil strainer 3 and the deep bottom side wall 22. An oil flow passage S through which oil can flow is provided between an opening end part 23c of the dam plate 23 and the deep bottom side wall 22. COPYRIGHT: (C)2008,JPO&INPIT
