PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a transonic profile and an axial flow rotary machine capable of inhibiting drop of efficiency due to tip side impulse waves and preventing separation by avoiding the enlargement of a boundary layer in a hub side. SOLUTION: Cross section profiles of a tip 124 and a section between a mean 125 and a hub 123 are shifted to an upstream side of flow of working fluid in a sweep direction respectively. Consequently, the tip 124 and the section between the means 125 and the hub 123 are formed in projecting S-shapes. Consequently, various loss due to impact wave is reduced and a transonic profile of good aerodynamics can be formed. COPYRIGHT: (C)2008,JPO&INPIT
