PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a continuous refining method for hot metal capable of obtaining high reaction efficiency by allowing an added refining agent to be securely involved into hot metal. SOLUTION: In the region where the components in the longitudinal direction in a hot metal spout 4 of a rotating flow by an impeller 10 become orthogonal to the flowing direction of the hot metal or reverse to the flowing direction of the hot metal, a refining agent is added to at least either (i) a position satisfying inequality (1) on the upstream side of the impeller or (ii) a position satisfying inequality (2) on the downstream side of the impeller; wherein, 0<M/D≤0.5 (1) and 0<M/D≤0.8 (2) are satisfied, and D denotes the maximum width (m) of a hot metal flow channel; and M denotes the distance (m) from the rotating center of the impeller to the additional place.
