PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an interruption vehicle detection device for preventing any erroneous detection by strictly selecting information relating to the side face of an interruption vehicle from among the information of the side face of the vehicle, and for accurately detecting the interruption of the vehicle. SOLUTION: An interruption vehicle detection device 1 is provided with: a location information collection means 9 for collecting the location information of a solid object existing ahead of its own vehicle MC; a solid object detection means 11 for gathering the location information of the solid object into groups G1 to G8, and for classifying the location information of the solid object into sub-groups O1 to O7 which are almost in parallel with the vehicle width direction of its own vehicle and sub-groups S1 to S5 which are almost in parallel with the traveling direction of its own vehicle; a traveling orbit estimation means 12 for estimating the traveling orbit Lest of its own vehicle; a preceding vehicle detection means 13 for detecting the preceding vehicle A; and an interruption vehicle detection means 14 for deciding the solid object as an interruption vehicle when detecting that the solid object has entered a predetermined range from the traveling orbit Lest detected as the sub-groups S1 to S5 which are almost in parallel with the traveling direction of its own vehicle in a region between the preceding vehicle A and its won vehicle MC.
