PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a propeller shaft reducing weight and size while ensuring stiffness, and facilitating assembling work. SOLUTION: A cross joint 4 is provided, which transmits the rotating force of a driving shaft through a pair of joint members provided at opposite end portions of the driving shaft 1 and a driven shaft 2. The first joint member has a uniting portion 11 having an insertion hole 11a in which a stub shaft 10 provided at an end portion of the driving shaft is inserted, and a fork-shaped yoke portion 12 provided at an end portion on the second joint member side of the uniting portion. The uniting portion and the yoke portion are integrally formed. A nut 15 is screwed with a male screw formed at a tip end portion of a shaft portion 10b of the stub shaft 10b inserted in the through-hole of the uniting portion, thereby preventing the slipping-off of the uniting portion.
