PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a spot welding machine capable of attaining robotizing based on a numerical control technique. SOLUTION: The spot welding machine is composed of: a planar electrode 110 working as the lower electrode; and a welding gun 130 working as the upper electrode over the same and performing two dimensional plane moving. A vertically movable gate-like frame 120 is arranged on the planar electrode 110, the gate-like frame 120 is provided with an energizing path 300 for the welding gun, and at least two opening/closing devices 330, 340 are interposed in the energizing path 300, and the gate-like frame 120 and the welding gun 130 are made movable without trouble.
