摘要 Provided is a control device for a vehicular drive system, which suppresses the excessive rotation of a first electric motor or a pinion gear constituting a differential mechanism, irrespective of the speed change of a speed change unit, thereby to improve the durability of the first electric motor or the pinion gear. Engine rotation limiting means (86) limits the upper limit rotation speed range of an engine (8) is so limited according to the gear ratio (?) of an automatic transmission unit (20) that a first electric motor rotation speed (N<SUB>M1</SUB>) may not enter an excessive rotation range. Irrespective of the speed change of the automatic transmission unit (20), therefore, a first electric motor (M1) has its excessive rotation suppressed to improve its durability. For example, the speed change of the automatic transmission unit (20) is executed without following a shift map, as shown in Fig. 8, so that the upper-limit rotation speed range of the engine (8) is limited at a failure time when the failure gear step is formed as the actual gear step. While the excessive rotation of the first electric motor (M1) being suppressed, therefore, the run of the vehicle is kept at the failure time.
