A cinerary urn having a sterilizing function and a manufacturing method thereof are provided to keep cinerary remains in a sterilized state by preventing multiplication of aerobic bacteria and preventing penetration of anaerobic bacteria using quicklime. A cinerary urn having a sterilizing function comprises an external vessel(10), an internal vessel(20) positioned inside the external vessel, and a cinerary bag(30). The external vessel is formed to perform sterilization inside the vessel with heat of reaction, which is generated by changing quicklime(40a) into slaked lime. The internal vessel is maintained in a depressed state by allowing a vacuum valve(50) to be attached to a cover(22) of the internal vessel. Ashes(34) are filled inside the cinerary bag and quicklime layers(36a,36b) are formed in upper and lower portions of the ashes.
