<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a video signal processing apparatus capable of suppressing the amount of data per pixel. <P>SOLUTION: The video signal processing apparatus includes a peripheral light quantity correcting means of correcting deterioration in peripheral picture quality due to a decrease in quantity of peripheral light of a lens and a distortion correcting means of correcting deterioration in peripheral picture quality due to distortion of the lens. Further, the video signal processing apparatus includes a source image compressed data generating means of generating source image compressed data by performing reversible inter-frame compression on a source image using as a difference predictive image the corrected image obtained by the peripheral light quantity correcting means and distortion correcting means. Furthermore, the video signal processing apparatus includes a corrected image compressed data generating means of generating corrected image compressed data by performing reversible in-frame compression on the corrected image, and a storage means of storing lens information, source image compressed data, and the corrected image compressed data as one file.
