PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To efficiently use driving devices and to reduce the investment on the facility by reducing the number of the driving devices in comparison with the number of conveying vehicles when moving the conveying vehicles for conveying articles to a desired position by driving the driving devices fixed to the conveying vehicles, and to reduce the volume of the occupied space when viewing each conveying vehicle and each driving device on the whole. SOLUTION: Each driving device 5 drives a conveying vehicle 4 for conveying an article 3 so as to be moved along a road surface 2. The driving device 5 comprises a driving unit 46 attachable/detachable to/from a rear part of the conveying vehicle 4, a steering wheel 49 which is separately provided from the driving unit 46, fixed to a front side of the conveying vehicle 4, and held by an operator A walking on the road surface 2, and a switch device 103 which is arranged in a vicinity of the steering wheel 49 and capable of varying the driving condition of the driving unit 46 by the operation of the operator A.
